“We are proud to support the Jeannette Rankin Foundation and its efforts to empower women to transform their futures through education. Attending college later in life comes with many hurdles, and we commend the Rankin Foundation Scholars who are working hard to achieve their degrees and create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.”

“The Assurant Foundation has supported Jeanette Rankin Foundation for the last five years because its STAR Party program provides critical funds to help Rankin Foundation Scholars thrive in a connected world.  In addition to monetary contributions, we provide resources for STAR Party activities, and Assurant employees volunteer to read applications for the scholar selection process, which gives them a fulfilling way to engage.  We’re proud to continue to support Rankin Foundation.”

Synchrony

Synchrony supported 20 Rankin Foundation Scholars for two years through the Education as an Equalizer Initiative via the Synchrony Women’s Network. Additionally, Synchrony provided support for both the Rankin Foundation Emergency Fund and overhead for two years. Education as an Equalizer build on Synchrony’s commitment to address deeply-rooted economic inequality within our communities through investment, engagement and social reform, in collaboration with academic institutions, nonprofits, government and business.

“I know from my own experiences that arming someone with education gives them optionality in the future to take control of their lives. There is nothing I believe in more. And despite what we as women are often told, it isn’t and never has been selfish to take care of yourself and to invest in your future. In June 2020, we established a fund to support women with the tools to empower themselves. We believe that as a community, women empower everyone around them, promoting collaboration, fairness and equality. Our mission for the fund is to give these tools and that choice to the next generation so that they might take on leadership *and the world) on their own terms.”
