Apply to be a Rankin Scholar

The Jeannette Rankin Foundation offers three unrestricted non-tuition grants for nontraditional students who identify as women, nonbinary or Two-Spirit. 

National Scholar Grant 

  • Students from across the United States who are 35 or older, pursuing a technical or vocational education, first associate’s degree or a first bachelor’s degree with an accredited U.S. institution may be eligible for the Jeannette Rankin National Scholar Grant. 

Emerge Scholar Grant – Georgia & Montana 

  • Residents of Georgia and Montana who are 25 or older, pursuing a technical or vocational education, first associate’s degree or a first bachelor’s degree with an accredited U.S. institution may be eligible for the Emerge Grant. 

Tribal Scholar Grant 

  • Tribal members (enrolled or descendants) attending a Tribal College, who are 25 or older, pursuing a technical or vocational education, first associate’s degree or a first bachelor’s degree, may be eligible for the Tribal Scholar Grant.

Application and recommendation letter deadline: Feb. 13, 2026

Applicants notified: Jul. 31, 2026

*Only a select number of applicants will be chosen as grant recipients. All applicants will be contacted in regards to your application status whether you have been chosen as a recipient or not.
