Winning the Earthquake Book Tour: Conversation with Jeannette Rankin biographer Lorissa Rinehart

Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025
5 – 6:30 PM MST

Missoula Public Library
Fourth Floor Cooper Room
455 E Main St, Missoula, MT 59802

Join us for a conversation with author Lorissa Rinehart to celebrate the launch of Winning the Earthquake (St. Martin’s Press, November 2025), the first major biography of one of Montana’s most impactful figures, Jeannette Rankin — the pioneering suffragist, activist and first woman elected to the U.S. Congress. The nationwide series of book talks and events, sponsored by the Jeannette Rankin Foundation, kicks off in Missoula with a special celebration at the Missoula Public Library with Rinehart and Chris Warden, a Rankin Foundation steering committee member. It will be a powerful opportunity for the community to reflect on Rankin’s fearless leadership and enduring legacy.

Founded with a bequest from Jeannette Rankin’s estate, the Rankin Foundation carries Rankin’s mission forward by awarding unrestricted Scholar Grants to nontraditional women students who are transforming their futures through education.

Copies of Winning the Earthquake will be available at the event and Fact & Fiction. Space is limited. Please RSVP your attendance here.
