Volunteer of the Year
In FY24, we were honored to recognize Betsy Bach as our Volunteer of the Year. A dedicated member of the Rankin Foundation family since 2016, Betsy has made an immeasurable impact through her leadership, vision and tireless commitment to transforming lives through education. Betsy’s journey with the Rankin Foundation began when she reconnected with the organization’s
mission — and with an old friend, Rankin Foundation CEO Karen Sterk. After seeing a photo of the Jeannette Rankin statue in the U.S. Capitol, Betsy jokingly asked, “What are you doing with my Jeannette Rankin?” Karen’s response —“She’s my Jeannette Rankin!”— rekindled her involvement and brought her back to a mission she cares deeply about. Betsy’s gift to the Rankin Foundation was connecting us to Jeannette Rankin’s home state of Montana and to members of theRankin family. She started by hosting house parties in Missoula, Jeannette’s hometown, to introduce the Rankin Foundation. She became a board member, and then the Board Chair, leading the critical two years of the GREAT FORCE Campaign. Thank you, Betsy, for all that you do to pave the way for brighter futures.
