My name is Tylanna! I joined the Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund team in January 2018 as an intern. My passion for learning and helping others along with my major in Women’s Studies led me to join . As the Program and Development Associate, I have been working closely with the scholarship program and our Scholars to ensure that the program runs to its full potential while supporting some of the best students in the country.
I graduated from the University of Georgia with my Bachelor’s in Cellular Biology and my Bachelor’s in Women’s Studies in 2020! I have used my knowledge about women’s issues to better understand the dynamics between the education system and the nontraditional college-woman. After being with JRF for 3 years, I am sad to leave but excited to begin the next step in my journey: I will begin medical school in Atlanta Summer 2021! As a future OB/GYN I want to serve women who commonly experience healthcare disparities in racial minority and LGBTQ+ communities. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, I am also very passionate about serving my communities in various ways—especially through mentoring young women. In my spare time, I enjoy watching Netflix, eating great food with my friends, and embodying the JRF mission. I will forever be grateful for my time at JRF and all of the amazing people who have helped me grow into this next phase of my life!
