Meet Our Scholar: Kaci
Kaci is a renewal Scholar enrolled at Grand Canyon University pursuing a Bachelors in Nursing with the goal of working in the transplant field. She is balancing raising her two children with her education and has clear goals for when she graduates. In 2013, Kaci donated her left kidney to a stranger. She wants to use her education to gain the qualifications she needs to one day work at the very transplant center she made her donation. Kaci is now working to start a Native American Student Association to better create a sense of community within her school.
“My dream of becoming a transplant coordinator is moving forward, thanks to generous educational scholarships like yours. Since being named one of the recipients of the Jeannette Rankin Fund Scholarship, my dream is becoming a reality. The award gives me an opportunity to learn skills that serve the medical community following graduation. Thank you personally for your generosity: Without scholarship patrons willing to support medical education, students such as myself would be unable to pursue advanced healthcare degrees.”
