Robyn of Montana is earning her Bachelor’s degree in Management Accounting. She's worked in the finance and plans section of a Fire Management team for many years, "learning how the fire world works and what equipment needs are out there." She plans to use her degree to start "a successful heavy business equipment rental business to be able to stay mainstreamed with the firefighting world."
“This scholarship opportunity has allowed for me to persevere through the financial difficulties of being a single mother and student so that my goal of obtaining my college degree is still a realistic option for me. It allows me the freedom that I need to carry forward and reach my goals of bettering myself and the lives of my family.”
Robyn is also very involved with her community from coaching little league to being PTA treasurer to volunteering at the Special Olympics of Montana. As a very committed volunteer in several community organizations and a Dean's List scholar for four years, she says, “I am showing my daughters that being successful is more than just having a college degree and a good paying job.”back
