Criminal Justice

“As a single mother of two smart, beautiful daughters, I knew early on that I had to be able to provide for them. I knew that in order to give them the best life possible that I needed to further my education. Although the road to pursuing my goals has been difficult at times, I knew that receiving a higher education outweighed any of the obstacles that I might face.”

Angela completed her Associate’s Degree and is moving on to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She hopes to go on to law school and earn her J.D. After struggling with alcohol dependence, Angela realized she needed to truly focus on how to support her children. She decided to go back to school and has set high goals for herself. She recently finished her Paralegal Studies program, and finished with one of the highest GPAs in her program. She is continuing on with her Bachelor’s Degree and is excited to learn more, develop her work ethic, and show her daughters just how valuable an education is.  With her education, Angela hopes to give back and volunteer her services to individuals who have trouble finding employment due to criminal records. She would like to also continue volunteering with domestic violence and homeless shelters by helping with legal paperwork.
